On 5-6 December 2018 Prof. Ye Xiao, the Deputy Dean of College of Applied Arts and Science, Prof. Wang Meiping, the Deputy Dean of Tourism College, Prof. Chen Jianbin, the Deputy Dean of Business College and Ms. Liu Jing, the Program Officer of the Division of International Exchange & Communication of the Beijing Union University visited Jagiellonian University and met with the authorities and representatives of the Faculty of Philology.

The meeting was attended by the Vice-Dean, Prof. Władysław Witalisz, the Director of the Institute of Oriental Studies Prof. Barbara Michalak-Pikulska and Prof. Joanna Grzybek and Dr. Katarzyna Sarek who represented the Sinology.

During the meeting, a preliminary plan for future cooperation was outlined in order to exchange the experience of the academics of both units, guest lectures and student exchange. Topics related to the development of long-term cooperation and its directions have also been discussed.

6th of December, guests met with sinology students who were interested in going to China for a summer camp, as well as for one or two terms long Chinese language courses. Members of the delegation presented their university and fields of study, scholarships’ opportunities and the perspectives of studying in the People's Republic of China.
